Early spring and trees are still bare in this wooded area which makes it easy to spot this adult owl. It's perched high up on the tree, preening and fluffing its thick plumage revealing its lacey fine feathers. I focused on the bird manually careful to avoid any abrupt movement and was able to capture this shot.
